Our social responsibility programme has its roots in Salesforce’s Foundation model (http://www.salesforcefoundation.org/). One of the key initiatives started by Will Cawthorne (now Director, Business Relations) on joining as Non-Executive was the One&One model, the programme that recognises the time and support that can be provided to philanthropic issues by every size of organisation.
“I learnt many wonderful things during my time at Salesforce.com but the most important by far was the impact an organisation can have in helping the community, not just in terms of providing charitable funding, but also time and expertise. Supporting your own employees and customers with freedom to give back on issues important to them is invaluable.
I also realised that, if possible, such a programme needs to be baked into a firm from the start. Only then does it form part of your firms’ DNA and in turn becomes second nature for all community, employee and customer relationships.”
